Welcome to my website!  I hope you have as much fun reading stuff on here as I do thinking on it and writing it.

I started this website because, since around June of 2009, I’ve been looking for an outlet to release my ideas on faith, politics, and what I’m learning it means to live life as a servant to Christ — to live as a true stranger and pilgrim on the earth.  This website won’t be like many other college student blog sites you may be familiar with, or at least I hope it won’t be.  If you’re looking for a place to read about what I had for breakfast, or to read about my romantic interests, you have come to the wrong place.  While I won’t tell you that I’m not going to ever mention what I had for breakfast, or even that I won’t discuss my convictions about what God-serving relationships look like, I’m not going to insult your intelligence and go on for paragraphs upon paragraphs about what I had for breakfast, just to kill time and space.  I can think of dozens of better ways to spend my time, and I’m sure you can too.

This site will serve two main purposes.  One will be as a journal of sorts as I daily read through the Bible.  When I stumble across a particularly poignant piece of Scripture, I’ll quote it and try to expand on it some in a post.  The second purpose will be to present ideas, as I mull them over, about faith, politics, music, and other topics of interest to me.  I don’t expect you to agree with me on everything.  In fact, I hope you will disagree with me on some things.  When you have thoughts you’d like to contribute, whether you agree or disagree, please feel free to constructively make use of the comments feature.  It will be nice to hear from you.  But, remember to be civil out of respect to others who may be reading.  I will not approve any comments that contain profanity.

Finally, let me say that I am flattered that you are here and, I’m presuming, that you have some interest in reading what I have to say.  My main intention behind this site is to give myself a place where I can try to translate a jumble of thoughts and ideas into somewhat coherent pieces of writing.  In so doing, I hope to better organise my thoughts and start to sort out what it is that I really believe.  In other words, this site is more a tool I hope to use to improve myself, with God’s help, than it is an attempt to improve the world.  However, if God somehow finds a way to use it to do both, then you won’t hear me complain, and I’ll give Him all the glory for it.

Thanks for dropping by!
